Watching From Afar

Like a hunter, hunting for its prey
I looked at you with Eagle Eyes
Watching you dazzling across the crowded room
My gaze and yours intertwined

I could have sworn you look so beautiful
With your eyes so small and refined
You glance menacingly towards passersby
One could only falter, weaken and inclined

Beneath all that rugged façade
You space some kindness inside
Broken by the barricades of your attitude
My feelings could no longer hide

My fondness for you could bring no harm
To the all ever-ready love abound
With a mixture of silence, integrity and sympathy
My affection for you remains gentle and sound

In the midst of days so hazy and blurred
I could sometimes be confused and be disparaged
By the ever mounting resentment and envy
By the clouded judgment and rage

If only I could express it all
Be it in words unarticulated and unrefined
I would say it out to you
And it would no longer stay in mind

For every bid of roses ever sweet and forlorn
The hopes of loving breathes on eternity
For every crutch of sanity that goes unattended
There is a room for worship and empathy

Forgive me for my words
So utterly unconvincing and self-inclined
Forgive me for my vanity
So completely unabashed and recklessly non-clandestine

I have hopes for you so high
If only I could cling towards you with my bare hands
I have dreams of inciting you
In poems, in epilogues, in artistic nuances with no ends

Just a thought from you will do
Just a breather from you will lead me to realize
That the world has no end
When it comes to love, to dreams and to life

This is a piece of expression
Of having thoughts to say and to ponder
A literary arbitration
Of my days of yonder

Getting it to you can sometimes be painful
Though I seldom try to admit it
Though I have often been gleeful
That my affection is worth all the merit

I may be disappointed by the fact that you would decline
All the passes, all the looks that I could only keep
Right beneath the stocks of my heart
But I am more than glad that you are what you are
For as long as we could still see each other
We shall never be that too far apart...

A Moment of Enlightenment

A glimpse of paradise,
Right before your very eyes,
A taste of heaven,
Never before so certain...

A glimmer of hope,
In a much aligned & focus scope,
A spot of light,
To stir one’s might...

Twas the moment of madness,
That cured the eternal sadness,
Twas the sunshine in my mind,
That grips... that binds...
